Greetings from Houston, Texas. I have been rinding for about 55 years, owning numerous motorcycles. I first encountered the SRX-6 at a new motorcycle show in 1986 and was immediately smitten with the bike. Having been sold in the United States for one year only made the bike incredibly rare here. As such, I never encountered and SRX again after that bike show. However, I never forgot it!

Fast forward 36 years and I stumble across one for sale in Delaware, 1,500 miles away from my home. Of the many bikes I have purchased in my life, I have never done so without being able to see it in person first. My long-standing fascination with the SRX caused me to break that rule, in this case. At this point, I am waiting on a motorcycle transport company to retrieve the bike, drive it cross country, and deliver it to me.

My excitement grows by the day, and hopefully I have not made a HUGE error in judgment. I have several photos of the bike, and condition appears to be very good overall with only 4,399 miles on the bike.

After a great deal of searching, I finally came across this forum. Pleased to be able to share the love of these bikes with the member here.

Hello Darrell and welcome to this forum.
You can't have made a mistake by purchasing this bike. Over in your country, they sold it with the preferred shock absorbers and the elegant rear brake tension bar; I see, your bike has already sealing plugs/screws in the clutch cover front. You might want to fit the original oil cooler here to reduce engine wear. For further information, check this forum.
The red colour seems to have been the rarest option, looks nice and tidy.
If there should be any questions, don't hesitate to ask us. I guess, there is no task, that any of us couldn't do.

Excellent observation. I had not noticed that in the photos! That certainly makes the task of adding the cooler easier. Thank you.
Please note that wenn the oil cooler is installed, you need to block the oil channel between the two connectors to force the oil to circulate through the radiator. That is done by changing this screw

(now only sealing the channel to the outside, allowing the oil to rise straight througt the vertical channel). If in doubt, ask LucaGregory, Jörg Dümpelmann and CR in this forum, they will know about the dimensions (length, thread etc.) of the screw.

Presumably just a longer screw is required to block passage?

It looks like your bike is in allmost showroom-condition (after polishing the wheels :-))

To close the bypass for the oilcooler you can dipstick the length for the bolt with a vernier caliper.
When you remove the bypass-bolt its kind of self-explaining.

Fortunately your 2EF-Model has the 1JK clutch-cover with everything ready to install the 1 JK-cooler.
But.....it will not be easy to find that.

Agreed. I am dismayed that the owner obviously cared for the bike, yet seemed to ignore the wheels. I presume that the staining seen is a typical corrosion under the clear coat. Stripping that away, buffing and polishing, will be in order. Judging from the photos, I am hopeful that the engine cases don't have the same issue.
If you brush them with a copper-brush, then polishing them, it will be okay.
Take new brake lines into consideration.

Will do. Anxious to actually get the bike here, so that I can assess everything.

I came across Greg Yermakov on his YouTube channel. Amazed to see that he has four of the SRX-6. It took me decades to find one! One of his videos shows him eating dinner with the designer of the SRX. As such, I presumed that Greg must have some level of connections worth knowing about.

I failed to mention that the bike has only 4,399 miles (7,080 kilometers), so I am hopeful that it will be an excellent example to collect and enjoy.
