Hello, Darrell!
I have another question about the way the big single cylinders used to be starte in earlier times. When I first search for the point "before TDC" with the kickstarter and then carefully push the kickstarter further over the resistance, I hear a slight hissing sound, which I assume comes from the exhaust valves. Have I found the point "after TDC" at this moment?
Greetings
Rolf
On the other hand, the hissing cannot actually be coming from the valves, as they are all closed. So is it the air that expands again after exceeding the TDC?
